9. Louisiana - Bobbie Jindahl (R)
10. Michigan - Richard D. "Rick" Snyder (R)

Thanks baggers!

I compiled this list from two sources: one I no longer seem to be able to locate regarding the ten most hurtin' states in America and here, a list of state governors.

8. Definitely!
I grew up in eastern Kentucky and there's no way I could stand to live there. We just got our Mom moved to assisted living here in Lexington and though her memory loss is sad it is a relief to get her moved because I was very worried about an elderly widow living alone where crime is rampant due to insane levels of drug addiction. When I grew up no one locked their doors, but people had jobs then too. It's very sad what is happening there.

The 'bagger mentality has ruined this state. People desperately in need and their fellow citizens kissing Rand Paul's ass and telling them to go to hell. I really hate the damn 'baggers, they are monsters.

23. Corbin! Ugh!!
So many non- neutered dogs and over an filled shelter that the dogs run up onto the interstate highway. Very sad.

15. You gotta look past the truly awful politics.
Fortunately, there is something of a counterbalance with our weather and--where it hasn't been paved over--our beautiful natural scenery.

Why is Delaware more miserable than say, South Carolina or Texas?

14. Then look again. Arkansas is one of a handful of states that is not in economic difficulty. Our
budget is in the black. House sells are back and unemployment is 7.8%. Governor Beebe is a good governor, but since last year, has to deal with the GOP.

Unless this is about sports teams, in which case I would agree that Razorback basketball fans are a pretty unhappy bunch right now.

Big Coal doesn't own the WHOLE state.

Unrec on the OP for editorializing and not providing a good link.

17. WHAT?!
How is South Carolina not on there?!?! Niki Haley figures out how to "fix" the budget by slashing wholesale DSS services. My wife is a director of a childcare center and the funding she gets from DSS to hire teachers is disappearing meaning she has to cut hours for her teachers. Yeah that'll solve the jobs problem. The county we live in here is at about 15% unemployment, some estimates have it at closer to 20%.

Not to mention that the new Lt. Gov. is being investigated for ethics problems regarding his use of campaign funds (his excuse is that he invested large amounts of his own money and he needs to recoup that loss).

This state is a horrible horrible place...I need to go back to Vermont.

27. So what is the plan to help these states?
Edited on Wed Mar-23-11 10:59 AM by WildEyedLiberal
Getting the baggers out is obviously step number one, but a lot of these states had Democratic governors before the 2010 landslides, and they were still economically depressed (mostly the Rust Belt states on the list). We NEED to get serious about bringing industry back to these parts of the country. It is appalling to me how the powers that be in both parties have essentially decided to write off the entire middle and southern parts of the country with their vicious hateful lies about how we can't "compete" in the global marketplace. :puke:

Edited on Wed Mar-23-11 01:33 PM by Urban Prairie
when more options-loaded and luxurious compact and full-sized extended/crew-cab PU truck models had been introduced that previously were more spartan and work-exclusive, and they became hugely popular, Michigan has been pretty miserable since Raygun was first elected.

38. Unrec'ed
The list makes Democrats look bad more than it helps, is misleading, and the freetards can easily use it for their own propaganda.

1. Democrats have three of the top 5.
2. Kasich just got there in Jan and took over for Democrat Ted Strickland, which Republicans won't hesitate to point out
3. Ditto for Rick Snyder who took over for Jeniffer Granholm.
4. That would make Democrats in 6 of the top 10 spots.
