Keep watching TV and Hollywood’s crappy movies cause it all support hussein. Fox is just a Prince Al Waleed ruse to keep you from cancelling TV.

As we get closer to 2012 - they will be nuking Palin. You cable and sat TV bill and TV viewership helps Obama and hurts Palin.

Let’s assume that Juan is correct, that Obama has superior intellect. Intellect, in and of itself, is nothing. Absolutely nothing. As far as I can tell, Obama is lacking in any other useful attribute.

Give me a freaking BREAK, Juanita?

Unlike Obozo, I’m pretty sure Sarah can talk to a 6th grade class WITHOUT A TELEPROMPTER.

Jeez!!!

14. They do
and they listen to Faux Noise and attend Teabaggin for Jesus marches. :scared:

I wouldn't be surprised if they're also for literacy tests to qualify to vote. You know where that's intended.

20. Yeah but probably many of them don't own homes so the tea bagger party might
take away their voting rights. We can all hope there.

2. Only commenting on function.

Intellect, in and of itself, is nothing. Absolutely nothing.

That is correct, intellect is neutral, it can be used to hurt or help. Many sociopaths are smart, as are many caring people.

Wisdom is the fusing of another element, where it includes some truth of what is agreed better by most people deep in their heart.

Those that argue for Intellect first are really bad for society, an average intelligence grandma may be able to pass on far more wisdom of justice and compassion then the smartest person could.

7. That depends on some other stuff; temperament for one thing. Average intellect combined with
temperament that has strong tendencies for anger and bitterness would be less likely to produce ethical wisdom.

High intellect combined with temperament that has strong tendencies for joy and satisfaction would be more likely to produce ethical wisdom.

There are Psychologists who find strong co-relations between cognitive development (e.g. Jean Piaget) and moral reasoning (a la Lawrence Kholberg).

To me, it's a question of whether you use whatever you've got to, no matter what its capacity is, to it's fullest extent, plus the probability that MOST moral questions are not so complex as to require the intelligence of Einstein to arrive at an ethically valid answer. What's so complex, afterall, about the Golden Rule?

11. great comment on complexity.
I figure most of complexity is adding things to try to rationalize wrong, make it so complex it can't be understood then you can say you think you are just no matter what.

I found it makes sense, it all makes so much sense, even with my faults and failures, it makes sense, and even those make sense on moderation in all things.

It really doesn't take much intelligence, although it might take some smarts to unwind the ridiculous self rationalizations, maybe even that is simple.

Why do you really do something.

12. Yea, been in lots of books and even some games also.
Wisdom is main attribute of cleric/healer class, while intelligence is caster class.

13. That's interesting...
although I confess to not knowing what a "caster class" is.

I've gotten a smirk or two from those who seem to have been raised to believe intellect was Everything.

18. Caster class.
Edited on Sun Dec-26-10 05:26 PM by RandomThoughts
Various types of Wizards, mostly offensive, but with a few defensive spells.

in most computer games, and old role playing games, caster class was about intelligence. They can deal out much damage, but have to be hidden in back row, Healers and clerics have armor. So really it is about blowing through the front lines and getting your tanks on the casters. Also basic mobile warfare doctrine. Taking out back row archers for instance, or when Alex went for the Persian leader to get him to break. Or even when the Persians found a route to the rear of the Spartans.

People that fight the 'tanks' like news shows and distractions really are not doing much, got to get the casters dealing out the damage. Since those tanks main goal is to drag out a conversation they know is disingenuous, so you spend hours explaining the same stuff, then they spend a few minutes disregarding it with a dishonest comment. Takes hours to show why a disingenuous person is wrong, only takes a few minutes to make a false claim. Why BS detectors are important for people to have also. Some that go after the media do some good of coarse, tying up those tanks, but somebody has to be going after the casters, or not going to get much done.

And protect your own healers and casters also, but that is a mixed metaphor outside of context of this post metaphor.

Although in metaphor, multiclassing rocks :D

Maxing out stats and skills while on the journey is better then spending skill points for short term gain in my view, in most of those situations. So I also spent time to become a Master Crafter in most of the online games I played.

Glad THAT meme is getting play over there, even if it is true.

Of course, there are no racist freepers or teahadists, so it will make no difference.:sarcasm:

" Mr. Madison, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul."

23. It's their way of attacking Obama's strengths (namely, his intellect
and eloquence).

Since Obama is black and not a Republican, he can't POSSIBLY be smart and eloquent, so therefore it's just the teleprompter doing all the work for him. Karl Rove used the same tactic when he attacked Kerry's war record in 2004. Attack someone's strength until it becomes a weakness.

27. I remember with such fondness the days just before McCain made his selection.
I remember hearing "Sarah Palin," and thinking that I had heard her name on a list but really knew nothing about her.

How nice it was before that name infected our national consciousness.
