I couldn't be more dumbfounded by the colossal ignorance and mega-mega-stupidity of right-wingers like Jackson. It's like one of those Zen koans that you just can't quite wrap your mind around. I hear what they say, I can see that they're serious, I know that they are fellow humans........nope. I simply cannot process this level of aberrant thinking.

With some strange-seeming behavior and statements, I can at least sort of see where the person is coming from. I don't love my cats enough to dress them in people clothes and have 87 of them, but I can at least begin to understand people who do.

But with extreme conservatives, as with serial killers and Michael Vick types, their behavior and words deviate so far from anything in my experience that I am left without the tools to comprehend - or even properly contemplate - them.
