PSC's direct action in Albany today

CUNY faculty and staff and community supporters will mount a peaceful, non-violent direct action in the Capitol this afternoon to stop the passage of a state budget that puts the interests of corporations and the super-rich above the needs of CUNY students and millions of ordinary New Yorkers. More than 200 people will take part in the protest, organized by the Professional Staff Congress together with NY Communities for Change and the Real Rent Reform Campaign. Many of the protesters are willing to risk arrest to stop Albany from making a terrible mistake.

You can follow this afternoon's protest on Twitter (@PSC_CUNY), or see photos from the event uploaded to our Facebook page. Longer, less frequent updates on the PSC website. (Statement from participants going up soon.)

1. Thanks, What is going on in the states is amazing. Under the
New Republican Governors there is a pattern: Gving
large Taxbreaks to Businesses and Rich and using cuts
on services to the Poor, the Elderly and College Students
to pay for it.

The MSM--TV Media remind me of Nero fiddling while Rome burned.
