What's with all of the nonstop natural gas ads on TV, at least here all on MSNBC. Usually it's
a forerunner for/because of something bad. We used to get all of these BP ads on how they were improving the environment, seriously. That was before the spill.

I'm always suspicious when some mega-outfit starts pounding with the ads.

1. You're smart in being wary and suspicious. Natural gas is a fossil fuel, they call it clean, but...
It's not, it's just less dirty than coal or petroleum.

We are already quite dependent on natural gas and on track to become increasingly so.

The sins and crimes being committed around it's extraction and import are manifold.

Be very wary.

2. I've been wondering if they are planning to do fracking around here. I know they

have some oil wells here, maybe there are gas pockets and they are planning fracking ... They must be doing about 15 ads or so per hr. It's getting revolting and annoying.

3. I ceased watching msnBS a couple of weeks ago but "OIL and nat gas" commercials were all over the
networks. Like every commercial break.

Just one of the many reasons I stopped watching.
I'll take my news without the propaganda, thank you very much.

6. I tried the mute button for a while. It's a good transition. But Some just need to quit cold turkey.

5. I guess they're just taking a break from all the "Clean Coal" ads . . ..
Wouldn't want to get to Johnny One-Note re. 'Murcan energy "policy", would we?

8. Yeah, gotta love all the clean coal ads. When I was a kid we had coal, what a mess, and
then several decades back during the energy crisis I used an air tight coal stove to heat a house, it was all the rage. What a mess that was, the house was covered with a fine dust no matter what I did.

7. They run a lot during the MSNBC evening lineup,
even on Rachel Maddow. I guess they think they'll win liberals over. Not likely.

find the ad annoying, even if it weren't for gas.

10. They're annoying
but I'm not going to turn of Rachel because of them. She's too informative and entertaining and I'm not going to let them drive me away from her.

11. I have Roku unit on the TV tied to broadband, so what I do sometimes is
watch her during the day and it's commercial free. The unit is at http://roku.com I prefer to watch her at night, but then I get the commercials.

12. I have TIVO.
If I'm not watching it in real time then I just skip past the ads. If I'm watching it in real time then I just tolerate them or go get a soda or something.
