All around the country, right-wing legislators are asking middle class Americans to pay for budget deficits caused mainly by a recession caused by Wall Street; they are attacking workers’ collective bargaining rights, which has provoked a huge Main Street Movement to fight back.

Now, a group of House Republicans is launching a new stealth attack against union workers. GOP Reps. Jim Jordan (OH), Tim Scott (SC), Scott Garrett (NJ), Dan Burton (IN), and Louie Gohmert (TX) have introduced H.R. 1135, which states that it is designed to “provide information on total spending on means-tested welfare programs, to provide additional work requirements, and to provide an overall spending limit on means-tested welfare programs.”

6. So those overpaid union workers are also collecting socialist food stamps?
How is this possible on their ultra high wages? :sarcasm:

Republicans need to get a grip on reality. If workers are making so little as to be eligible for food stamps, they cannot possibly be overpaid as claimed.

8. Just a note on that ...
Republicans are about creating their own reality and trying to force us to live in it, not about getting any kind of grip on some form of consensus reality.

I think that might be an important nuance in understanding our vicious and relentless opponents, especially the one's with teabag hanging from their ideologies.

9. Ok
End the provision allowing food stamps for striking workers... BUT, the company they're striking against should lose, in the interim, all subsidies (Federal, State and Local) all tax abatements and any other form of outside assistance not completely derived from direct company business.

But I guess that would be leveling the playing field...
