proposed by those on the right. The way that they are barreling through objectionable legislation, with the threat of recalls and election defeats, means they have been assured that some manipulation at the polls with keep them in office. Yes, I do have my tinfoil hat on but they are the party of distraction. Distract you with one thing while the construct something else. Beware 2012!! Start digging through subcommittees and tiny little language inserted in bills that will loom large later.

People need to take their heads out of their behinds, stop listening to all-or-nothing "paper people" election reformers, and start working for realistic change. The first step is a paper ballot for every vote in America, no matter how it's counted, then we move on from there to audits or (if people really want it) hand counted elections. This is not caving in, this is being real. Because there is a hell of a lot of difference between paper ballots counted on even a slightly audited optical scan system, and the totally paperless electronic touchscreens still being used by 25% of American voters.
And besides voting systems still being vulnerable, take a look at the Photo ID laws and other measures being passed almost daily by state after state now in GOP control. Not to mention redistricting. We are in deep trouble and pie-in-the-sky ideals are not going to help anytime soon.

2. No it isn't too bad our inept and/or complicit leadership |

has done nothing, not even passing lip service, about this issue even light of Bush v Gore and Citizens United along with the many issues all around the country with disenfranchisement and shady dealings all around the nation.
Hell, our dimwitted asses defunded ACORN our damn selves trying to match idiocy with the TeaPubliKlans. Then we went after the Teacher's union and froze public sector pay just to be sure we have both hands behind our backs.
We can dig and scream bloody murder but few, if any will do something or even protest unless there is some absurd overreach.

My remedy would be to weed relentlessly with extreme prejudice.
