Great comment on and explanation of what is going on in Libya.
It now seems very clear to me. The military runs our foreign affairs. The Secretary of State and the President are just mouthpieces for the military brass and the defense industry.
We have very strongly suspected that fact for a long time. But now that fact is proved beyond a doubt.
The problem is that the military thinks in terms of military campaigns, military successes and failures. Did our military meet its goals and objectives? That is the question they pose.
The military does not really think in terms of what policies will keep Americans employed? What policies are good for our country and not just for the military brass and the defense industry?
Our military is well organized. The rest of our government changes every few years. The military brass stay in place and build their power base. They are running the show. Our defense apparatus needs to be put in its proper place. It should not be making the decisions here.
