Firefox 4......So far, so good
I downloaded it last night, and I must say that so far, I'm very pleased.

Anyone have any bad experiences with it yet?

2. I'm still getting used to the placement of tabs...
they used to be right under my bookmarks bar, but now they're above the address bar. On more than one occasion, I've hit a bookmark instead of a window tab.

7. If you right click on the down arrow the right hand side of the tabs bar,
and uncheck the "tabs on top" option you can have the tabs available where they were before.

underneath the address bar no matter what, because of the way I have my interface set up. I run it on minimal, and I didn't even have my address bar when I first installed it - I had to turn on the navigation bar, and then my tabs were on the below it. I don't use any menu bars.

11. Upgraded mine too, for my Mac. Only feature I do not like...
is that the tabs are now at the top of the address bar, and to switch tabs, I have to mouse up above the toolbars and address bar to click them. I preferred them below, was easier to navigate that way, IMO.

It IS much faster. The old version seemed to slow my Mac considerably.

and there's an option to click "Tabs on top" or "tabs on bottom"....The ONLY reason I know this is from a wonderful DUer who told me how to do it yesterday. :) I HATED them at the top of the page.

and all is well. I had to find the refresh/stop button. Did that, but I'm not thrilled with where they're placed it on the browser and that's probably because I'm use to them being on the left. I also don't like where the Homescreen icon is on the right, so I'll probably just use my keyboard shortcut or "most visited" icon to go to my homepage. I also put my tabs back down where they were...didn't like them at the top. The browser works GREAT though! I like it. I haven't used IE for YEARS and miraculously, all my computer problems stopped. I also stopped using the extremely invasive Norton antivirus software....and haven't had computer glitches since.

46. I hate all things new and different
But I'm struggling to just give it a try for awhile and trust the designers. There are addons that will make it look and act like Firefox 3 in various ways but I'm holding off on those. Well, except for one but I had that installed on Firefox 3 too to give it a classic look: Old Address Bar because I simply hate how the address bar suggestion drop down takes up 2 lines for each entry: url + page title and prefer to have it display just the url only. Web designers are clueless about one thing and it drives me crazy: They assume an http url is gobbledygook to an average user and without the associated page title it's absolutely meaningless. I run into this insane bias in other areas of my profession as well. The http url is not only perfectly understandable but also provides valuable context in a compact way where a page title or breadcrumbs simply cannot. I'm not saying every link should display as a url obviously, but where space is a premium and concision matters then raw urls can be useful. http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss hmmm, oh my! I simply have no idea where that terrible url thingy will take me!

http://uk.ibtimes.com/articles/126266/20110324/google-microsoft-bing-search-war-great-search-engine-war-tarsorrhaphy-copy-results-bing-sting.htm

Google's infamous 'Bing sting' in which it nailed rival Microsoft’s Bing search engine and the ensuing high-voltage war of words hogged the tech world limelight in February this year.

The bare-knuckle fight between the search giants was a spectacle worth watching and it ended with accusations and counter accusations. Now, the details of how the sting operation was planned and executed by Google's search team have emerged. Fastcompany.com published a lengthy article last week that details how the Great Search War of 2011 unfolded.

Here is snapshot of how it happened:

At the heart of the tussle was Google's argument that Microsoft was copying Google's web-search results. A top Google executive revealed last week how his team went about collecting what he said was incriminating evidence for Microsoft's trespasses.

I'll keep 3.6.16 on my desktop which is what I use most of the time and wait for more addons to become compatible. Having it on my laptop will let me know when the most important addons have updates.

65. Mozilla doesn't write the code for the addons.
The extension (addon) authors know all about the new versions as there are nightly builds and release candidates available to them (or anyone) to use so that they can make their extension compatible. It is up to the extension authors to update their software, not Mozilla.

69. I also don't blame the extension authors for
waiting until there is a final release before updating their extension(s). Last minute changes by Mozilla's Firefox code can cause them significant work as it may be a moving target depending on the extension. I expect that most of the extensions that aren't compatible now will be updated fairly quickly now that the release is final. But sometimes all the extension authors have to do is edit a line or two in their configuration files.
