Dylan just said that Medical Marijuana was a $1.7 BILLION dollar industry -- this |
is only the 'legal' stuff. Didin't catch if that was last year or projected for this year, but wow! If the pharmaceuticals see they can make money off of this, they'll be pushing it and probably get it legal in all States - good news! As long as they don't fuck it up by tweaking it like they do with other substances to make them more profitable.
I heard that synthetic THC doesn't work as good as the real stuff. if that's accurate, then we can't let them fuck this up!

2. Pharma will NEVER endorse legal weed. Unless they can systhesize THC... |
But until THEY can control the supply, there is no profit in it for them. Pot is too easy to grow in the backyard, in large enough quantities to share or sell, so....

4. Maybe the tobacco companies can replace their crops with weed? If there's money |
to be had, I believe Big Biz will find a way to profit.

5. THAT is who I think would be a big proponent of it. To be honest, I really thought |
that the Tobacco companies would have been all over this by now, considering how much money they could make, growing it and selling it right next to their cigs in stores. Seems like a no-brainer, huh?

8. Rex noted that it would be an admission of failure on our government's part, |
and it is "too big to fail" which may be a huge stumbling block. Although we have turned around in previous areas, but don't know about the War on Drugs... may be too political.
Thankfully several States are allowing it now, anyway. We can only hope for more.

6. Illegal drugs are Big Pharmas enemies. They lose profit to drugs |
like weed, yeah a fucking weed is what this is all about...amazing really. Pot will never be legalized, because it would be an obvious failure on the part of our govt...and you all should be aware by now that our govt is 'too big to fail' so here is what we will do...some research on it and get back with you. Maybe in 50 years. Not.

7. Cleanhippie and I are kind of discussing tobacco companies growing it, but |
the "too big to fail" argument is a valid one. At least we've gotten several states to okay the med marijuana usage and sale. The world's longest journey... :7
