Student shot at Martinsville West Middle School

Morgan County - Police say a male student was shot Friday morning at West Middle School in Martinsville. The shooting victim was taken by LifeLine helicopter to Methodist Hospital for treatment. He was shot twice in the stomach.

The mayor's office confirms that the shooting suspect was taken into custody. The suspect is a student at the school.

Police are still searching for other possible accomplices. Mayor Phil Deckard says police are searching for the gun in the area of the K-Mart.

I'll say it now before anyone else does - ban school dances. How many kids get hurt over dances, pregnant, drunk, stressed out over who to ask, fights, etc? Ban the dances and those issues would not happen :)
