Advocacy Groups Launch "Protect Social Security Week" with Harry Reid

Hello all,

I'm a member of the National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare (NCPSSM) and next week, starting with a major press conference hosted by Harry Reid and a few other Senators, they and a coalition of Social Security Advocacy groups are launching an advocacy week to push back against GOP & ConservaDem calls to cut SS.

On Monday, March 28 at 12:30 EST, NCPSSM will be live tweeting and providing Facebook updates on the event, along with quotes from Senators who attend and pictures. www.facebook.com/nationalcommittee

Here's an overview of the rest of the week's activities, which include a very important Congress Call-In Day. Republicans always call more than Democrats so it would be awesome if a bunch of DUers could join these calls on Tuesday:

Thursday: New E-Card to send to the group of Senators (Gang of Six) working on deficit reduction proposals.

Looks like it is being done by a lot of advocacy groups. Good for them and Harry and Bernie to get out ahead of the Blue Dog-Repuke efforts to cut Social Security benefits.
