Fukushima Updates-3(maybe 4) reactor vessels probably breached,water radioactivity 10,000 X normal
http://english.kyodonews.jp/news/2011/03/81116.html

"Tokyo Electric Power Co. said Friday it has begun injecting freshwater into the No. 1 and No. 3 reactor cores at the crisis-hit Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant to enhance cooling efficiency, although highly radioactive water was found leaking possibly from both reactors as well as the No. 2 reactor.

The latest efforts to bring the troubled reactors at the plant under control are aimed at preventing crystallized salt from seawater already injected from forming a crust on the fuel rods and hampering smooth water circulation, thus diminishing the cooling effect, the plant's operator said.

The utility known as TEPCO is also preparing to inject freshwater into the No. 2 reactor core.

But a day after three workers were exposed to water containing radioactive materials 10,000 times the normal level at the turbine building connected to the No. 3 reactor building, highly radioactive water was also found in the turbine buildings of the No. 1 and No. 2 reactors......"

The latest news from Fukushima continue progressing from bad to worse. Which of course means that the (physical) silver lining around the mushroom cloud will be that much more potent: after all, the greater the destruction, the higher the Russell 2000. Just ask the Keynesians.

Tokyo- 13 million without running water, now bottled water is almost all gone

Tokyo Runs Out Of Bottled Water

I stick by my original prediction that this will end much more badly than the limited hang-outs of the governments and the media would seem to suggest.
So hope I am wrong, but I have seen almost nothing over the last 3 weeks to suggest otherwise.

:-(

3. How can you evacuate Tokyo? Where do the people go?
It might be time for Japan to start thinking about such a possibility.

Japan seems to be always downplaying the seriousness of the problem in order to stop panic. I suspect this situation is far worse than we suspect.

4. Evacuate the largest city in the world in a country the size of California.
And if it has to happen, it will be permanent.
At least for our lifetimes, probably more.

5. a frightening possibility
I heard this on the radio the other night. The people are all contaminated and cannot leave as no country would want them. Hence, they remain in Japan and Japan becomes like a leper colony.

I hope this scenario is not true but it is frightening nonetheless! :scared:

:dem:

7. Apparently not so frightening for all the people around the world opening their homes to Japanese.
And people aren't waiting around for governments to get things organized.
Here's just one small example:

13. I talked to a couple I know that live 500mi away from Toyko in SW Japan, they said they feel safe.
Their restaurant business is booming with all the refugees from the cities.

I told them to get out anyway, you never know which way the wind blows. They laughed.

12. So all those people stuck in their homes should just sit there?
Is that some kind of karmic punishment for being Japanese or something? The vast majority of the population is not involved in the containment struggle and has nothing to gain or offer by dying from radiation poisoning.
