I believe we need to learn from the enemy and market our cause
better through BRANDING!

So lets come up with a name...all good wars have good names, right? Here's a few of my suggestions:

1. The Republican War on the American Worker
2. The Corporate War on Working Americans
3. The Conservative War on the American Dream
4. The Fuck the Have Nots War

Please feel free to support any of these ideas or add your own!

Thanks for playing.

2. How about
The Republican War on the American Dream.

I prefer Republican to Conservative because of party identification and American Dream to American Worker because I think it cuts across all groups (wage earners, small business owners, retirees).

4. That's a good point
For my suggestions you can interchange any of the subjects as well as objects and it would work.

20. The GOP War on US.
Can be interpreted as us - the pronoun or US the initials of the United States.

What republi-CONS want to do is gonna hurt YOU. BANK on it.

7. LIKE it!
We ABSOLUTELY need to turn all their buzz phrases on their ears.

ANOTHER advantage to being a nimble thinker in this way:

Consider the enemy. They are fed this shit on radio and Pox Noise day after day after day after day. They hear their leaders saying it. They hear their activists say it. That's because it's all scripted. And they're so programmed to knee-jerk straight to those talking points they've memorized (or that have been imprinted on their minds through constant repetition) that the astroturfing allows their own reason and discernment and mental flexibility to atrophy. If they're pushed beyond the talking points, that's all they'll still have - the talking points that don't fit as neatly (if at all) and don't apply as closely (if at all) anymore. They have no response except to fall back on the talking points which limits them. Throw 'em a loop and they have no response! Why? Because they weren't issued another ready-made, specially tested and tailored talking point with which to respond. They've got NOTHING. And you've screwed with their heads and made them look and sound like nincompoops.

And it's a good way to advance both threads, too. Both are WORTH IT!!! Let's get our brains working on this! WE are the best weapons we have!

8. Drop "the" and "party"
Make it "job-killing Republicans" to counter the "Tax and Spend Democrats" BS.

11. Too long for a sound bite
or to be repeated as a mantra. Think branding.

14. Most people won't get that
It needs to be someone everyone understands immediately without explanation and without exposure to what most people at DU know. Also, too many people in the lower 98 don't think of themselves automatically as being in the lower 98. It just won't resonate with people. Even I found it a bit confusing. My first thought was "you mean the lower 48?" For a label/brand to stick it has to be short, snappy, and instantly understandable. So you need something people immediately identify with. Even the Middle Class is weak. An accurate statement would be the war on American taxpayers - because the reality is that the lower 98 bear the brunt of the tax burden. But even that wouldn't resonate because I think most American's have the mistaken perception that the upper 2 actually pay taxes!

15. all excellent points
I may be wrong, but I believe what is going on here is that the people who have wealth - and I mean real wealth - are trying to gather and hoard more wealth at the expense of the people who live pay check to pay check. How does that get summed up into a catchy phrase? I am not that clever. But we need to do this in order to fight the sound byte/bumper sticker/magnet/repeated catch phrase war.

Great idea. We need simple words that will clarify the enemy's anti-American worker position.

But I don't think the people who need this the most would understand it. Think simple - like people who save their money to buy tickets to see Larry the Cable Guy.
