May we all age like 'Liz Taylor |
|
I was talking to my mom today who was born in 1932 ..... When the movie "National Velvet" came out Elizabeth Taylor was 2 or 3 years older than my mom ..... @ Ms. Taylor's passing she was younger than my mom.
Oh well, big ups to Elizabeth Taylor and what she did in standing up in the fight on AIDs which has gone from a 100% death sentence to a long term treatable disease (in the Western World).

1. I've always loved her... |
|
Powerful actress, drop dead gorgeous, generous, intelligent... what's not to love?
I never cared for her perfume... but I think I'm going to give it another go... just because...

9. Grace Kelly, Audrey Hepburn, Liz Taylor |
|
Grace Kelly was the most beautiful woman on screen.
Audrey Hepburn was the woman on screen I would most want to marry.
Liz Taylor was the sexiest woman on screen. She will be missed.

But she had health problems all her life, not to mention personal tragedies. My mom (born in 1931) loved her too. May Elizabeth rest in peace.

4. I love that she stipulated her funeral to be start 15 minutes late -- a poke at |
|
herself and so nice to see she didn't take herself too seriously.
She did so much good, may she rest in peace.

5. My dad told me the same thing |
|
This was back when she was turning 40 and was being hailed as the "world's most glamorous grandmother" after her son and his then-girlfriend had presented her with a granddaughter.
Anyway, LIFE did a big cover story about her and I recall asking my dad (born in 1930) what he thought of it. He said he wondered why they waited 2 years to celebrate her 40th birthday. He said "We were always the same age and then suddenly she was 2 years younger."

6. I've noticed a few who have become younger than |
|
me, including one, who shall remain nameless, whom I went to high school with before she became famous and who was a couple of grades ahead of me back then. :-)

8. Now, Cleita, that's not fair! |
|
If you hadn't written "who shall remain nameless" I wouldn't be wondering. You're really not going to tell?

I can allow her a little age fudging. She's not the only one in our age group though to shave off a few years.
