The company didn't pay any US taxes in 2010. In fact, it got a tax benefit of $3.2 billion. With video updates.

Slogging through your taxes right now? Maybe you could hire someone from General Electric (GE) to help.

The company has beaten Uncle Sam. It paid no U.S. taxes for 2010, The New York Times reported. In fact, it received a tax benefit of $3.2 billion.

It's not that GE can claim poverty. The company rang up $14.2 billion in profits last year, including $5.1 billion from U.S. operations.

2. hmmmm
Boycotts don't work, sorry, they just don't. Especially with an entity such as GE. If you notice, the majority of their profits are overseas. Their number one customer is the US military, I don't think they are going to join any boycott. What could possibly hurt them? A toaster or microwave not bought? This company builds jet engines and military radar systems.

The thing to do is get loud to your Representative and your friends and family to be loud. Close corporate tax loopholes to fix the debt. We actually need Nixon's tax policy (76% top rate and very few corp. loopholes) AND re-regulate, for our own safety.

6. They're not going to boycott ... but WE should
I'm seriously considering filing my tax return -- which
I'm required to do -- but just ... forgetting to to include
a check for the $250 I "owe," with a note saying, "I'll
pay my taxes when GE and other corporations pay theirs."

8. And then with interest and penalties you'll end up paying more than double.
Happened to me years ago. A simple math error that it took them FIVE YEARS to catch.

When they finally notified me I paid triple what I would have owed if the error had not been made or if they discovered the error earlier.

But the corporations,well-------------------------------------- !

3. "In fact, it received a tax benefit of $3.2 billion."

Remember this when you're doing your taxes this week, and desperately searching for that extra $50 child care deduction, so you don't have to write out a check to DC, or else face an audit and the threat of jail time. Suckers.

:grr:

4. GE is now a net detriment to the country
If the country were a casino, GE would be thrown out and BANNED for cheating.

And let's not mince words here. It IS cheating.
