Sarah Palin posted a long message on her Facebook page that was a meditation on how a conservative in public life deals with a hostile, biased media. The advice that she is giving to herself is, for the most part, sound.

The takeaway that most will have is in one of the first paragraphs.

"Upon my return from an outstanding and productive trip to India and Israel, I've been inundated with requests to respond to petty comments made in the media the past few days, including one little fella's comment which decent people would find degrading. Palin is referring to none other than Bill Maher, who is still causing controversy for having called her a name that is a vulgarism for the female genitalia. Even NOW, an organization not known for siding with the former governor of Alaska, was forced to spring to her defense, albeit in a back-handed way.
