Pollan provides rays of hope for future of food

Speaking at the Marin Center on Thursday night, food writer and activist Michael Pollan reiterated the need to reform industrial agriculture in America, suggesting an alternative system that would rely on the sun rather than fossil fuels for energy.

The multimedia presentation was a bit of a departure for Pollan, who used a high-tech computer program with both video and still images plus a variety of props to get his points across.

The corporations are still pushing their sorry products, but people are paying attention to Pollan and other advocates.

Whenever I shop for groceries, all the people are buying real, unprocessed food.

They can't afford the dead food and live food, so they are choosing real food.

The word's getting out.
