WI Recall update - We've got the signatures on Randy Hopper?

We're going full throttle with recall here in FitzWalkerstan. We need to flip three senate districts to regain control of our state; we've got recall petitions out on 8 republican senators.

Word is that we've got the signatures on one - Randy Hopper. He of the girlfriend with a state job fame. With 60 days to get the signatures, the volunteers in his district got them in three weeks.

This is big. We don't have to submit signatures until May 2. Meantime, Randy's sweating it out, wondering what else comes up.

From Merge Left

Efforts to recall Republican State Senator Randy Hopper from Fon du Lac have reached another milestone, as organizers issue a call for volunteers to turn in any remaining petitions to be counted. Organizer Scott Dillman says he’s sure they have enough signatures to trigger the recall, but he can’t give exact figures yet. He says, processing all the information they’ve collected so far will take a week. They need 15,000 signatures to trigger the recall and he had originally set a goal of 20,000 by April first. He says he should have set that goal higher. Once Dillman tallies and submits his petition, a candidate will have to step up to run against Hopper in the recall, which could happen by this summer

2. Hopper should also be charged with perjury and voter fraud
According to Article 4, Section 6 of the Wisconsin Constitution, “No person shall be eligible to the legislature who shall not have resided one year within the state, and be a qualified elector in the district which he may be chosen to represent.” So if Randy Hopper really is living in Madison and not at his residence in Fond Du Lac, he wouldn’t be a “qualified elector” in the district he represents, thus making him ineligible to represent that district.

So exactly where does Sen. Randy Hopper really live?
On March 3rd, Indiana’s Republican secretary of state Charlie White was indicted on seven felony charges, including perjury and voter fraud – because he moved out of the district he represented and continued voting there with notifying any of the proper authorities or the public.

3. Sounds like Hopper might be brought up on charges of Fraud too...
…if Sen. Hopper truly isn’t living at his residence in Fond Du Lac – as if wife stated – but is instead living in Madison , how can Hopper continue to represent his State Senate district?

4. Republican response to the randy Randy Hopper scandal:
Republican response to the randy Randy Hopper scandal:

Wisconsin Republicans announced today that they have established a new entity to prevent future scandals like the one hitting Randy Hopper.

Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald today announced the formation of Wisconsin House Of Republican Ethics and Sanctimony (WHORES), with this press release:

"We are setting up WHORES for the purpose of:

..preventing selection of candidates with names like "Randy Hopper", which are way too easy to ridicule.

..making sure all Republican Senators maintain apartments in their home districts, in case the press finds out their wives haven't seen them in eight months.

..handing out WHORES literature outside local "mega-churches" each Sunday after services.

..making sure Republican lobbyist groups don't have names like "Persuasive Partners".

Said Fitzgerald: "We're sure our Republican colleagues are going to be very pleased with the services provided by WHORES."
