CNN brought up Sarah Palin almost immediately with Ferraro announcement |
|
I came to DU and saw that Ferraro had died. Couldn't find any info anywhere else and my mom was wondering how she died and how old she was. She turned on CNN and the "Breaking News" banner came up and the woman mentioned that Geraldine Ferraro had died. First person she went to was in Iowa or somesuch, and one of the first things he said after a short blurb about Ferraro he started talking about Palin and Bachmann. My dad, who's a lifelong Republican said out loud "Why are you talking about that dumb-ass Palin?" I was astonished as well. I guess the reasoning was that Palin and Bachmann, being former and future candidates themselves were valid in terms of subject matter. Unfortunately, in American history, it will be Sarah Palin who was the second female vice-presidential candidate. Sorry Geraldine.

Ferraro was not shy about playing the race card during the 2008 primaries and even publicly flirted with the idea of withholding her endorsement of Obama if he had one. it was not the best political closing act ever.

I'm embarrassed for the Hillary supporters who fell in love with Palin. She faked being a feminist long enough to get some of their votes.
A couple days ago NOW came to her defense after Bill Maher called her a dumb twat, and she said "I need NOW's defense like a fish needs a bicycle."
She referred to Maher as "one little fella" that's just an annoying little mosquito not worth her time and attention, in a long rant that was purportedly about her being victimized by the media in general.
