House Republicans’ Next Target: The Old Peoples’ Lobby
http://gawker.com/#!5785848/house-republicans-next-target-the-old-peoples-lobby

Jim Newell — House Republicans' Next Target: The Old Peoples' LobbyThe masters of legislative oversight who currently make up America's House Republican majority has another little beef to settle, this time with that most sinister of Washington special interests: The American Association of Retired Persons, a.k.a. the lobby for old people things. If only these geriatrics hadn't endorsed last year's health care reform law, maybe Republicans could've turned a blind eye to such corrupt practices as bribes that ensure Matlock reruns never disappear from daytime television programming. But they did endorse it, so House Republicans are planning hearings.

2. I wonder how the oldsters that voted (R) are feeling right about now.
They're going to get porked because of their stupidity last November.

13. Well, to be fair, they got SUCKERED by the billionaire's sophisticated mind f*ckery (R)
that studies the human psyche, and how to exploit it, and then ramps up the propanganda tools to exploit (sucker) people to the max.

The elders -- and the young people -- who have been suckered by the RepubliCorp propaganda machine may someday wake up and realize how pathetically they have been HAD. If so, a Mighty ShitStorm will blow...

11. There are no good ones at all... Not one.
The current Congress has rapidly become irrelevant.

All people think they have done is vote:

to name a building

De-fund NPR (Emergency Session)

De-fund Planned Parenthood (no more preventative medical exams for those who do not have the means to)

Repeal ObamaCare (correctly known as the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010. This Act and the Health Care and Education Reconciliation Act of 2010 (signed into law on March 30, 2010) made up the health care reform of 2010. They didn't even attempt to name their repeal of the above act by it's real name but chose to name it the Job-Killing Health Care Law Act.)

This is what they have actually accomplished:

Summary of actions

In this Congress, all of the statutes have been promulgated (signed) by President Barack Obama. None have been enacted by Congress over the President's veto.

Public laws

Public law number Date of enactment Short title Description

112-1 January 31, 2011 To provide for an additional temporary extension of programs under the Small Business Act and the Small Business Investment Act of 1958, and for other purposes. (Extending Pub.L. 111-251)

112-2 February 17, 2011 To designate the 'John M. Roll United States Courthouse'.

112-3 February 25, 2011 FISA Sunsets Extension Act of 2011 To extend expiring provisions of the USA PATRIOT Improvement and Reauthorization Act of 2005 and Intelligence Reform and Terrorism Prevention Act of 2004 relating to access to business records, individual terrorists as agents of foreign powers, and roving wiretaps until December 8, 2011.

112-4 March 2, 2011 Further Continuing Appropriations Amendments, 2011 Making further continuing appropriations for fiscal year 2011, and for other purposes. (Extending Pub.L. 111-242, the Continuing Appropriations Act, 2011)

112-5 March 4, 2011 Surface Transportation Extension Act of 2011 To provide an extension of Federal-aid highway, highway safety, motor carrier safety, transit, and other programs funded out of the Highway Trust Fund pending enactment of a multiyear law reauthorizing such programs. (Extending Pub.L. 111-147, the Surface Transportation Extension Act of 2010).

112-6 March 18, 2011 Additional Continuing Appropriations Amendments, 2011 Making further continuing appropriations for fiscal year 2011, and for other purposes. (Extending Pub.L. 111-242, the Continuing Appropriations Act, 2011, and Pub.L. 112-4, Further Continuing Appropriations Amendments, 2011)

They have managed to put in to place a 2 weeks of work one week of play schedule for themselves but as noted above they have not 'actually' done any work for the American people, specifically enacted any legislation that will lead to establishing JOBS for Americans.

Might I suggest you start a Recall process of your 'irrelevant' Congress person and let's put people in to office that will 'actually' do something for Americans and not 'Big Business' and 'Wall Street Fat Cats'.

Plan to attend a rally in Washington DC on July 4, 2011 to take back our country from these buffoons and near-do-well puppets of the 'Rich and Slothful'.

12. Please allow me to apologize for the rest of us.
I agree with you.

Still, I can't imagine a better group for the GOP to target, short of whacking an actual hornets' nest. Usually their steps are so astutely chosen; did someone forget to tell them that our elder citizens vote?

15. And we fucking COMPLAIN a lot!...they are asking for trouble, but that seems
to be the GOP way.Get POWER, abuse it immediately loudly and often, outrage everyone, even your former supporters, and lose power. Start again.

I am old enough to have seen this before and I think we might be getting to the really funny parts pretty soon...they become so outrageous no one can tollerate them, but they are stuck with their "philosophy"...

They would be laughable if they were not so fucking serious and didn't destroy so meny people while playing their idiot games...

Sorry- I'm better now...
mark.. ;)

6. And it's "cross marketed" with "time for you dinosaurs to go" blog comments....
Hate your neighbor, he's black.
Hate your neighbor, she's Mexican.
Hate your neighbor, he's gay.
Hate your neighbor, she's Muslim.
Hate your neighbor, he's a Union man.
Hate your neighbor, she's your mother.

I think their strategy is somewhat self-limiting, and they're out of rope.
