9. Thanks...
Neither one of us is big on gambling (though I'm sure I'll throw some loose change at a slot machine or two), but we're planning on seeing Zumanity, and I watched a few videos of Love this morning, so now I gotta see that too lol.. but I figure on lots of wandering around, seeing all the cool freebie shows, and whatever else strikes our fancy.. Should be a hell of a good time.

10. If you are going to see shows.
I dont know where you are staying but on the south end of the strip there is an outdoor shopping mall, inside that mall there is a discount tiocket center that sells show tickets and even dining discounts of 50% or more to all the majory and not so major shows too. It might be worht your while to take a quick trip down there and snatch up tickets for shows you might like to see. With most show tickets starting at around $70 per it could save you quite a bit of money.

The mall is called town square and its actually a fairly nice mall it has several really good restaraunts in it.

BTW All I hear is great things about Love.

14. hmm bout 5 miles or so but you could easily hop on a bus
would probably take about 15 mins to get there depending on traffic. If you did it early afternoon you could grab a great dinner also there for half off at blue martini it has one of the highest rated happy hours in the city and is also right there in the town center mall.

Busses run every ten minns on the strip so you can basically catch one any time. A bus will run you 1.50 a cab would probably run somehwere arround $25 each way. Theres also a whole foods in that mall so if you wanted to grab some reasonably priced snacks for your room you could also grab those while you were there. The prices in the casinos are out of control.

On a side note the Venetian is a huge republican supporter. Not my first choice of places to stay but it does have a good location and is a gorgeous casino.

Again hope you enjoy your stay and Good luck!

http://www.deseretnews.com/article/700121873/Minuscule-amounts-of-radiation-from-Japan-reach-Nevada.html?s_cid=rss-5

Minuscule amounts of radiation from Japan's damaged nuclear plant have reached Las Vegas, but scientists say it poses no health risk.

Ted Hartwell of the Desert Research Institute's Community Environmental Monitoring Program says extremely small amounts of the radioactive isotopes iodine-131 and zenon-133 had reached a Las Vegas monitoring station this week.

He says he's certain the isotopes came from Japan because they're not usually detected in Nevada, but the readings were far below levels that could pose any health risks.

16. It has been detected as far east as South Carolina and Florida!!! Link to story here:

"RALEIGH, N.C. — Very low levels of radioactive Iodine 131 have been detected in the air throughout the U.S. as a result of nuclear leaks at the Fukushima plant in Japan, Progress Energy officials said Saturday.

Iodine 131 is a form of radiation typically released into the air by nuclear reactors.

Progress Energy spokesman Drew Elliot said very sensitive equipment at the utility's Robinson and Crystal River nuclear plants, in South Carolina and Florida, respectively, detected iodine radiation in the atmosphere, but said it did not pose a health threat for U.S. residents."

Nuclear power generation is not safe. It has never been safe, and cannot be made to be safe. Within six months isotopes from Fukushima will have reached every part of the planet. Fortunately, it won't be in dangerous amounts. Our nuclear testing between 1945 and 1968 send nuclear isotopes all over the planet. Chernobyl reached every corner of the plant. Nothing new here.

We live on a planet that is contaminated by all sorts of things created by mankind. That is the situation. If you want to go to Vegas, go to Vegas. You won't be harmed, and the fallout is headed for your town or city, anyhow, where you also won't be harmed.

Nuclear power generation was a huge mistake. It's unlikely to end. So, there it is. Wherever you are, there it is.
