"Libya may be placing corpses at bombed sites -Gates"

that Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi's forces have placed the bodies of people they have killed at the sites of coalition air strikes so they can blame the West for the deaths, U.S. Secretary of Defense Robert Gates said in a television interview on Saturday.

"We do have a lot of intelligence reporting about Gaddafi taking the bodies of the people he's killed and putting them at the sites where we've attacked," Gates said according to interview excerpts released by CBS News' "Face the Nation with Bob Schieffer" program, which will air on Sunday.

Seriously? I mean really? Have you made any sort of effort at all to listen to actual Libyans or to seek out reliable sources?

Gaddafi's propaganda goes just as hard as ours. Hell, harder - do you know that Libyan state TV is saying that the protest in the UK today was the British people protesting the crusader colonialist bombardment? And that Gaddafi is also saying that the Canadian government fell due to opposition to the bombardment?

Today, when the woman came into the hotel where foreign journalists are being kept to tell them that Gaddafi's men had gang raped her, the government minders beat her, beat the journalists, broke cameras, took memory cards, and drove her away to god knows where to do god knows what to her.

And I have heard repeated accounts, over many days, from the Libyans on Twitter that his forces have been taking bodies, that even before the no fly zone families were forced to sign a paper saying that the "rebels" killed their loved one and not Gaddafi's forces before they could claim the body, that there have been mass kidnappings in Tripoli and some people recognized family members who had been kidnapped - as corpses being used for just this propaganda?

Do you really seriously honestly think that our government is the only government in the world that lies, that an insane totalitarian dictator wouldn't have his own propaganda?
