11 PM tonight Eastern Time - Triangle: Remembering the Fire
I think this is the HBO special being rebroadcast.

"Documentary. (2011) On March 25, 1911, a conflagration a the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory in New York kills 146 workers."

1. I don't get HBO, but watched the PBS documentary. Heartbreaking. Comedy for the Kochs.
And Gov. Walker and other GOP guvs around the nation. A regular laugh track for them as they break the unions.

2. Their timing is impeccable - low information people will not remember the Triangle Fire
But it is also impeccable for those of us who DO remember our history - the one hundred year anniversary of a pivotal incident in labor union history is a very bad time to try to undo all the work to improve workers' situations.

3. And just as they did in 1911, American businesses continue to claim
that work safety regulations are "burdensome" and that business can police itself.

And politicians - including too many Democrats - believe them.

8. Sorry - I thought I had put CNN in the subject!
I do like how they are doing this - letting the relatives of the participants narrate. It makes it much more immediate.

It also struck me in the description of the people jumping, it was so much like what we saw on 9/11.
