Gloria Borger and Candy Crowley pile on the negativity; re Libya |
|
I was listening to both Candy Crowley and Gloria Borger pile on the negativity this morning with regards to Libya. No mention at all about the rebels taking back a few towns this morning and are driving westward, and are now trying to take back Misrata. What I got was an earful of the same old redundant, overbearing questions that they've been asking the past few days.
When it comes to Libya, the media have been the most hypocritical bunch of smear merchants I've ever heard. For a week or so before we and others became involved, the questions from our media were why isn't anyone stepping up and stopping this?? Where's Obama? He's dragging his feet?? He's not focused?? The rebels are being massacred.
Now that we and others nations have committed air power to help the rebels out, the media, including Borger and Crowley, have now switched 180 degrees. Now the questions are why are we there?? What's the national interest?? What if Gaddafi doesn't leave?? The military is stretched so thin. These questions never came out of the lips of these people before the coalition went in. I never heard a word uttered to that effect.
Whether you're for the war, or against it, one thing os clear, the media once again play both sides of the fence and it absolutely sickens me that they can be so hypocritical. Hey CNN and MSNBC, how about a little objectivity??!!! (I don't mention FauxNews, since they are a lost cause).

2. Isn't playing both sides of the fence the definition of objectivity? |

4. Not when you ask where's the help |
|
For the rebels, then a week later criticize the help you pleaded for. It's called hypocrisy.

5. It is when both sided are presented beforehand. |
|
This is just being contrarian.
If Mr. Obama had a 'pro-children' press conference, the MSM would find a reason to hate kids the next day.

6. Another example of why it has been too painful for me to watch the major channels |

most of the time.
The message is always so pro-corporate.
They were promoting the Bush Wars for the most part.
They talk about the GOP Hit Squad Team of 2010 Governors as though they were really serious about cutting expenses, instead telling the truth that "these guys came in to office and cut taxes for companies that we know have been hoarding cash and not creating jobs-- how can they profess to be serious about spending? And how cruel can they be to cut assistance to the poor to finance those perks for their campaign donors?"
So little truth and so much dogma.
Very much like Newt vs Gingrich.
