Mother and her sex-offender boyfriend both accused of child abuse

A registered sex offender and his girlfriend both face charges of child abuse after Daytona Beach Shores police caught the woman trying to drop one of her children from a bathroom window onto a small roof so the man would not be caught with children in his apartment, police said.

"Mommy held me out the window," a 3-year-old boy told police, according to an arrest affidavit. "I was bad."

It was about a 4-foot drop to the roof and would have placed the child on the gravel rooftop that was about three feet wide and about 10 feet off the ground and there was nothing to keep the child from falling off the roof.

The woman obeyed orders to pull the child back into the bathroom and another officer entered the bathroom and found him and a 2-year-old, both partially clad, with Murray.
