3. The Guardian does a fantastic job at reporting about these cuts! I salute them & wish our MSM would
If the GOP led Congress here get their cuts this is what is going to happen here along with the deep cuts in the State Governments. Here is another good article on why so many marched:

Public sector cuts – the truth
Amelia Gentleman
The Guardian, Friday 25 March 2011

Thousands of publicly funded services across Britain are about to be lost, with devastating consequences

http://www.guardian.co.uk/society/2011/mar/25/public-sector-cuts?intcmp=239

A week today the cuts will start to bite. As the financial year ends, grants will run out, contracts will wind up, and charities and services will begin to shut their doors. After months of anxiety about the impact of the cuts, the consequences of the government's rapid deficit reduction programme will begin to be real.

The Guardian gives a slice of what this will mean across the country, highlighting a cross-section of 50 services that will shrink or cease to exist from the end of this month. Most are unglamorous, obscure, unfeted projects, staffed by employees who are not very well paid, but hugely committed to what they do. All of these losses come as a result of the government's decision to cut spending by £95bn over five years.

8. Excellent article. I agree with you.
I wish our major media would challenge Republicans about giving tax cuts to their corporate funders and then calling for budget cuts on their most vulnerable citizens.

Get all the Republicans on the record trying to justify giving large cuts to businesses while slashing very useful social services and survival assistance.

4. Some estimates put the number as high as half a million.
According to reports from the Guardian the crowd stretched from the Houses of Parliament to St Paul's Cathedral (which is a distance of two and a half miles).

6. Global Capital has created it's global undertaker.

All over the world people are hitting the streets in numbers unseen in decades. Even as the capitalist reach for absolute supremacy the act of reaching threatens to bring them down.
