Former Bob Evans CEO, Dan Evans, Dies

COLUMBUS, Ohio — A member of the Bob Evans family who is credited with much of the company's growth and success has died.

Dan Evans, the cousin of founder Bob Evans, passed away on Friday at Riverside Methodist Hospital. He was 74.

During Dan Evans' tenure as company chairman and chief executive officer, Bob Evans saw substantial growth across the country.

Under his leadership, Bob Evans grew from just four restaurants in Ohio to 450 restaurants in 20 states.

A company news release said Dan Evans began his career in 1956, working at a sausage production plant.
