Honors Student pistol whips mom to co-sign for Nissan 350z-mom doesn't want to prosecute
FORT MYERS, Fla. — An honors student is accused of using a stolen gun to pistol whip, then threaten her mother in order to get a sports car, according to Lee County Sheriff's Office reports.

On Thursday, March 24, 17-year-old Rachel Hachero called her mother from a car dealership and asked her to co-sign a loan for a vehicle. When Rachel's mother Linda Hachero refused, Rachel threatened to kill her, reports said.

Around 7 p.m. Rachel arrived to their Mossy Glen Drive home and confronted her mother with a 9 mm. She struck her mom in the head with the gun, reports said.

-----

After contacting deputies and reporting the incident the following day, Linda told deputies she didn't want to prosecute her daughter because she is an honors student who has been accepted to several Ivy League colleges on scholarships, reports said.

Wow, now that is a spoiled brat. Sorry, but I'd be pressing charges & telling her for all I care she could pay her own butt through a community college!

1. That is what we call "enabling".
I had the same reaction as you - I'd have no problem with either of my children being arrested if they did that to anyone. And I'd keep the car for myself.

She'll damn sure always get extensions on her papers. Pistolwhip ONE prof and the rest will pretty much fall into line.

:sarcasm:

2. Hopefully every last one of those Ivy League schools will rescind their admission.
And that's the least of what I wish for this little brat. The rest I'll refrain from posting here.

4. Prosecute anyway.
I'm sure there is another honors student on the schools' wait lists who did not threaten her mother with a stolen gun.

9. Mom needs to get a restraining order,
co-operate with the prosecution and throw the daughter out of the house.

But somehow I suspect this girl has been using and abusing her Mom for years.

Mom is probably afraid of her. And perhaps justiafiably so.

The cops shoud have an obligation to report the facts of the incident to campus officials at the girl's current and future educational insititutions in order to equip them to protect other students.

will forward this news story to their admissions office. I sure would.

12. "Reports said."
Even though we have no idea whether or not her mom is the nutcase, MSNBC has taken the liberty to *not* include "allegedly" in their headline.

Anything to get people to click.

17. Daughter found with a stolen gun
There's a crime right there that should get her several years. Law should never go lightly IMHO on a gun crime.

enough for the police to file charges without Mom's cooperation.

18. According to her facebook page, she finished HS in 2007
& was in the class of 2009 at some college in the Philippines. I'm thinking maybe she made up a big lie about those Ivy admissions & scholarships. Her mother may or may not know the truth of the matter.

19. That will go over well on her college applications
Will her admission offers be rescinded?

Somewhere out there a law abiding student who didn't make the cut for these Ivy League school stands ready to take her place.

20. This is a crime against the community. The DA should be able to press charges without the mom's ...
consent. Then subpoena her to testify.

26. All that for a 7 year old car? Not so bright. Commit felonies for 370 Nismo.
They're ugly as hell (all Nismos are pretty much) but why go to so much trouble for an old Enthusiast?
