We seem to have a bad case of crabs! |
|
Too many of our non-union neighbors are behaving like crabs placed in a bucket.
Real crabs, when placed in a bucket, might easily reach up, grasp the rim with a claw and pull themselves out to freedom. But, that seldom happens because the other crabs, seeing one of their number about to escape, will pull it back down.
Encouraged by conservative propaganda, too many look at the benefits of union membership---higher wages, better benefits, increased security---and, instead of insisting that THEIR employer increase their wages and benefits, loudly demand that union members work for their crappy wages and join them in praying they don't get sick or injured.
Wake up, folks. The corporations are the enemy---not your union neighbors.

3. My brother was that way |
|
He had a non-union job in a place where he did many of the same things as unionized workers. He hated unions because they got paid more and better wages.
I tried to suggest that instead of hating unions, he might instead appreciate what they did for his co-workers, and find a way to get parity.
His response was something like "Oh fukit."

I didn't know.
Well. Good analogy, then. (And great observation.)
