RIP Joe Bageant, 1946-2011

RIP Joe Bageant, 1946-2011

After a vibrant life, Joe Bageant died yesterday following a four-month struggle with cancer. He was 64. Joe is survived by his wife, Barbara, his three children, Timothy, Patrick and Elizabeth, and thousands of friends and admirers. He is also survived by his work and ideas.

According to Joe's wishes, he will be cremated. His family will hold a private memorial service.

1. He will certainly be missed -
there were threads about this yesterday so that may account for few replies. We'll miss him and will do our best to continue his work. Both a good and great man, as they say. Godspeed, Joe.

Deeply sad about his leaving us.
I discovered Joe a few years ago, and gave Deer Hunting With Jesus as Christmas gifts.
A kind friend sent me this quote when I said Joe had died:

It fits Joe, and comforts me.
