Rick Santorum Blames Abortion For Social Security Woes
Edited on Tue Mar-29-11 11:41 AM by Derechos
Potential Republican presidential candidates continue their effort to blame economic woes on social issues they hate.

CONCORD, N.H. — In his latest trip to New Hampshire, Republican Rick Santorum says the Social Security system would be in much better shape if there were fewer abortions.

snip

He says the system has design flaws, but the reason it is in big trouble is that there aren't enough workers to support retirees. He blamed that on what he called the nation's abortion culture. He says that culture, coupled with policies that do not support families, deny America what it needs – more people.

5.  It makes sense that a larger younger population would generate more payroll taxes.
Of course that also depends on them having jobs and frankly they would also need to be producing members of society who hopefully got a decent education.

6. Or be unemployed and generating no payroll taxes at all.

To tie it to abortion is inherently ridiculous.

10. A larger OLDER population would generate even more
payroll taxes IF ANY JOBS WERE AVAILABLE.

Sorry I'm yelling. I am old and emotionally labile.

12. Yeah having jobs solves a lot.
But a younger population can work for a longer period of time.

4. Hey, Rick, Do you think it could have anything to do with the
problem of NO JOBS and not abortion???? BTW, when exactly is your party planning to tackle this? After all, isn't that what the repukes campaigned on??

8. I tried not to click through to this post. I really, really did. But when you see
a headline like that, you know it's just going to be so fucking stupid it isn't worth the look. But then the shadow of doubt comes over and it's like, how in the fuck can Santorum blame abortion for non-existent Social Security woes?

So, you look. And sure enough, it's as stupid as you initially thought it would be.

Santorum. He needs to be in a santorium.

9. Michelle Obama's emphasis on exercise is also reducing the work force
'cause they are getting hit by cars while walking.

11. Hey, Rick, it would be much faster to just open the U.S. borders to all immigration.
Why wait for babies to grow up, when as children, they'd be dependents for years? ;-)

13. This is the time where I once again question why
a couple of mostly rural, lily-white states with a paltry amount of electoral votes get to control the ENTIRE political dialogue for a full year until the end of primary season...
