Here's when Americans will rise up and take to the streets:
Edited on Tue Dec-14-10 01:36 PM by cali
When there are food shortages

When they don't have cable TV

When unemployment is over 25%

When Disney World locks its gates

In other words, it won't happen until there's widespread economic disaster.

It'll likely happen then.

But not a moment before.

1. Bread and Circuses
As long as the people are fed and entertained cheaply, people won't rise up. It was true for the Romans, and it is still true to this day.

2. Bet you are right...when the masses can no longer afford cable, they will finally revolt.
If there is no bread and circus, they will finally hit the streets with torches and pitchforks.

How pathetic is that?

Comcast must be an agitator then, since the bastards continue raising rates even as they've lost large numbers of customers due to their existing high rates.

6. I suggest
I suggest that you begin to hope that sort of thing does not occur.

Unless you think that "the worse the better" is the way to go.

If it does, you may not be celebrating the outcome.

14. Since when does "hoping" change reality?
Do you steer clear of certain comments out of fear that saying them will make them come true, too?

7. Remember those rolling blackouts in CA?
Funny thing was blocks would be out of power, no cable, no internet and it was hot out. Too hot to stay inside so people in my neighborhood would go outside, find some shade and....talk to each other. Everyone was mad at the power companies and the government for not intervening on behalf of the people without electricity. It all went away when the power came back on but if I were in a position of power I wouldn't want something like that to last more than an hour or so on a hot day in CA. An entire day without media to pacify and divide us would be really dangerous....

Probably never happen though. Cause we fixed our infrastructure right?

:)

20. By then, it'll be too late. It already is.
The transnational elites won, regular Americans lost, this day in December, 2010.

Lower the tattered flag, fold it gently, and bury it. Say a prayer. It's going to be a long, cold night.

People will conclude that "Spooky Dude" whacked him and that the food riots are going to begin.
