Radiation more than THREE THOUSAND TIMES normal and it isn't a threat to human health?
Do they think the world is that stupid?

The amount of iodine-131 found south of the plant does not pose an immediate threat to human health but was a "concern," said Hidehiko Nishiyama, a Nuclear and Industrial Safety Agency official. He said there was no fishing in the area.

A CONCERN, you fucking bet it's a concern, for years to come. And anyone who says it's OK maybe they should go wade into that water.

1. No. it's OK...
so if you get a cut, you can put the material on it and the Iodine will clean the wound AND the radiation will kill the rest of the bacteria...

What's YOUR problem?

:sarcasm: of course...

2. Maybe the guys at Triad should use this material to fix their sterilization problems
they improperly irradiated their alcohol prep pads, this could help?

3. iodine 131 has a very short half life, a week or so...
At Chernobyl, some children were exposed by eating dairy products while the accident was ongoing and shortly after.

The nuclide that has received the most attention at Fukushima for Toxicity is cesium 137, which as a relatively
long half life of some 30 years, and does accumulate in animal ( and fish) flesh.

10. It's the Caesium from Chernobyl
That still keeps 5,100 sheep holdings in Wales from selling their livestock.

5. Corexit and oil in the Gulf, and Gulf seafood, is no concern either, didja know?
Neither, apparently, is depleted uranium, GM foods, and untested Big Pharm drugs.
We apparently live in one of the safest eras of our lifetime.
Which is really good news, since no one I know can afford to get sick.

Jazz hands.

6. Maybe they figure if they keep blowing smoke about iodine-131 long enough and loudly enough
no one will think to ask about cesium-137. :(

9. It is a concern, but not an immediate threat

The global financial Ponzi is expanding more every day. When it implodes (probably sooner than later), there won't be any money, except what the banksters have stolen. No money, no food, no transportation. Most of us will die of starvation before we die from the radiation effects.
