43. That's what I think, many of the Republicons in positions of power suffer from mental illness
voted into power by a constituency that suffers from mental illness and causing mental suffering for the majority of us. Bachmann is certified batshit nutz, Palin nutz, Kasick nutz, Scott nutz, Walker nutz, Cantor nutz, Boner nutz, King nutz, Issa nutz........ the majority of Republicons are seriously, mentally infected. Only someone who is not firing on all cylinders can do what they do without remorse or concern for the majority being adversely affected and harmed by their craziness. They are a sick, immoral part of the population and if and when we all wake up, they can be defeated and this country can start to move forward again instead of this backward slide they have forced upon all of us. They are insane, they know it and they don't care what harm they do as long as they get their way. Most of the crazy policy they are dictating or trying to dictate into law will be their undoing. Most of them belong in an insane asylum, not in positions of power to harm the majority of us.

80. I am in my 50s and I can never remember a time
when there were so many obviously batshit insane people in public office. There were always grumpy old mossbacks in both parties resisting change, but they were of the grouchy old coot variety, not the "screams at the clouds and expects answers" ilk.

We now have a collection of the flat-out madder-than-hatters, the completely delusional, the fact-free, rabid ideologues and religulously insane psycho/sociopaths that has to rank with Germany's Reichstag as the worst parliamentary assemblage in the history of the last 100 years. There are creatures, like Batshit Bachmann, who openly profess that they "listen to the voices in their heads." Hearing voices is a leading indicator of paranoid schizophrenia; people like her belong locked securely behind closed doors and heavily medicated with anti-psychotic drugs. Yet they are writing this nation's laws.

Truly, the inmates have taken over the asylum. Who the eff is going to get rid of them?

39. Their being elected is a version of Stockholm or else battered wife syndrome...
Edited on Wed Mar-30-11 02:53 PM by freshwest
They beat the voters up by making backroom deals that send their jobs away, steal their health with pollution, gamble and lose their food, clothing, rent and the kid's lunch money in the stock market, make the wives and kids hungry homeless, rig their healthcare so they can't make ends meet, and say:

"Oh, I won't go out and cheat on you again, I'm sorry about that. I broke up with the Chamber of Commerce and that Chinese gal. Because I really do love you baby, I really do.

You can't make it without me, you need me to do these things for you. Please, please, can't you see that this is all for your own good? Gimme another chance and vote for me and I'll make it all better."

Not well expressed but you get the picture. Brevity is not my strong suit. ;)

P. S. Not my life experience but I've seen it with too many people.

This N Mode is counterproductive for the overall Health of the Nation...and the Planet.

Its Common Dense that the Baggers GOPers wish to continue with the N Mode....

79. You got it. I remember an employment test from years ago from a major corporation.
Edited on Thu Mar-31-11 05:14 PM by freshwest
It was very telling. I only got two answers wrong out of hundreds of many different forms of tests that took two full days to answer.

One had pictures of different men wearing medical scrubs, military uniform, overalls and hard hat, and a business suit.

The question was "Which man is dressed for work?"

I picked the man in the hard hat, since they were advertising for construction and technical workers.

Right answer: Business suit.

Guess all the others were dressed to lay around at home.

Another one I got wrong was a question about how people would react to brutal oppression.

It was multiple choice again and I picked, "Fight back."

Their answer: "Become apathetic."

I'm sure you can draw conclusions as to what kind of work the corporation thought was worthy and how to best maximize profits.

That was back in the seventies. No improvement in their mindset as far as I can tell. It worked so well.

Sweet Doraldina tells me that even if your crystal ball tells more than hers (highly unlikely) Obama could kill baby kittens on the front steps of the White House and still be elected over any Pubbie... and that's what counts. There are no viable Pubbies or Dems to challenge him at this point... and it really is too late in the game now anyway.

And W couldn't possibly beat Gore. Or Kerry. Nobody needs to worry. He's got this. Is that the argument--the same one as 2000, and 2004?

Since you're such a visual person, another iconic image comes to mind:

11. We'll see if the remorse is genuine
In the next several months when unlimited money buys up every last minute of advertising time it can to persuade folks what a wonderful prospect we enjoy if only we elect more Republicans. Yes, I know: You are immune to the blandishments of advertising in the popular media, so what is there to worry about. But big corporations don't spend billions on advertising because it doesn't work on the general population. After months of the message dinning in everyone's ears from the TV and the radio, in print, and in more subtle ways on the talk shows, the repressive message will sound remarkably reasonable to a lot of people who should know better.

It's up to us to make sure they know better, but we're going to have to do it on the cheap with only facts and reality to back us up. It will be a very close thing, but only if we move heaven and earth with our efforts.

50% do not believe Obama should be re-elected.

You have Charlie Cook on the air yesterday putting
"smilely faces" on the Republican Party and spilling
some yarn about "the people are not focused on what
is going on." essentially dismissing Ohio, Wisconsin
and all the uproar in the states.

This was the first time I actually saw Cooke lack

As I said today, their focus is People do not want

Edited on Wed Mar-30-11 11:47 AM by Zorra
to spread lies and spin in the upcoming campaign. SCOTUS made sure this could happen.

A lot of voters are not too bright and have short attention spans/memories, so they buy the lies and vote republican, and then they wonder why their lives suck so bad. So then they get buyers remorse until the next campaign, and then they buy the republican lies again, and they can never figure out why things never change.

The only way the republican party can exist in any significant way is to lie to voters. Plain and simple. The 5 corporate devils on SCOTUS know this, that's why they legislated from the bench, arbitrarily deciding that the wealthy could use unlimited funds to support candidates.

If the republican party was seen solely in the light of its accomplishments, a lot of people that voted republican would want to hang the republicans they voted into office. But cash from wealthy predators provides the propaganda smoke that keeps these not too bright voters in the fog, so they never get to clearly view the naked evil and incompetence of the republicans they voted into power.

Until we end lobbying and privatized campaign funding, the not too bright voter will continue to be preyed upon by wealthy predators, taking the rest of us down in the process.

No one (except a corrupt wealthy person) would vote republican if they had even a lick of common sense.

The teabagger mindset is overflowing with denial and when they see things aren't going right, they keep digging the hole they're dragging us all into. They're still screaming the only reason their policies have failed is that there are too many progressives opposing them.

Its only lately, because of the GOPers going GROUP THOUGHT in a blatant wway....minimizing the overall Econ Flow, that peeps are seeing the damage

and want demand action to reconcile with better voting..

Anything related to sex is like gawking at wrecks on the freeway. Oh, they have the psychology down pat to divert from their shell game while they rob us of what's more important.

49. True Republicans want small government, low taxes, and to be left to live their lives.
Seriously rabid right wingers want to turn this into a theocratic fascist country where they are out of your bank accounts, up your vagina and everyone MUST believe in their god. Honestly, most republicans are turned off by this bullshit, and their voter remorse is out of control. And THANK GOD FOR THAT.

50. The GOPers cannot seem to grasp the larger scope...they wish simplicity..small govt, low or no taxes
no spending, etc

and yet is their inability to explain where the funds necessary to run this gigantic system effectively...

Rand was on c span this AM....he wants to eliminate taxes...period...and cut spending....but no mention of revenue source to make up enough monies needed

He is an Idealist....with no ideas on how to fix this national mess

66. They want the state to pick up the tab for everything.
They think the Federal Government is only there to regulate international commerce and collect tariffs. That's how the federal government was ran previously: tariffs. Only they either don't remember that part or would like to forget. You were charged when anything was brought into the country to be sold out the wazoo. What they fail to remember is most of the state's funds they they piss away are given to them by the federal government. Federal taxes go away, and so does all of the state money. I'm surprised every state in the union has not tried to succeed from the union. Instead of states, let's just all have little countries and see how that works. Just dissolve the United States. Don't be surprised if they start talking about it, if they haven't already. Chaos will ensue. Just watch. It'll be fun.

It seems they only a rudimentary understanding of Gov't...amateur Politicians given power before their time...

US Senators should be required to be a Congress person for 3 - 2 year terms before allowed to run. Thats a good filter to ensure the knowledge base is of a high level,,,as opposed to the present system...we need a new ammendment...

But their Crud factors are alive and mentally unwell. Factor in the truth and a GOPer will head for the nearest bondage bar or airport crapper to forgetaboutit. The country was Bushwhacked for eight years and it has taken a dreadful toll on this country.

And puts a large boot right up their political Doo Doo Chutes! The "big party" of Doo Doo belongs in that "tank," where it's dank, stank and rank. They are all busy working on the final solution to the "Middle Class." Why do they always want to turn back the clock, to Black Tuesday, 1929?

Be careful not to get overly confident, I mean how bad does a GOPer have to be to be defeated by a big eared, American hating, Kenyan Muslim!?

I would sure love it if Newt ran, imagine the debates. Before each debate, the host anchor asks Newt: "Are you feeling patriotic tonight?" (If Newt answers yes) Ask if he would be requiring time alone before proceeding.
