Is this by any chance the same David Barton who was called a pseudohistorian with "absurd" arguments by Arlen Specter back in 1995?

One of the first things authoritarians and totalitarians do when they get power is they get the history books and rewrite them so it matches with their 'glorious history'.

This must be the Tea Party's specialist on that very thing.
