President Obama’s approval rating hits a new low
http://news.yahoo.com/s/yblog_theticket/president-obamas-approval-rating-hits-a-new-low

"After a brief resurgence earlier this year, President Obama's poll numbers are back in the dumps. A new Quinnipiac Poll released Wednesday finds Obama's approval rating at the lowest point in his presidency, thanks in part to voter angst over the economy and his handling of the situation in Libya."

1. This is not a big deal....
Obama's numbers have jumping up and down between the low 40s to the low 50s for some time now....the only polls that matters is when you poll Obama against the repub candidates for president and he beats them all rather easily...

2. If the GOP had a single realistic candidate, President Obama would be toast.
But they don't, so he will squeak by next year.

However, Rubio will be the VP on the GOP ticket, and will go on to be elected President in 2016.

5. Actually....
I think Obama could beat any repub no matter how good of a candidate the repub is....facts are on Obama's side....everything has improved since Obama took office (in just 2 years). Even though many DUers are mad that HCR got rid of preexisting conditions, gave more medical protection to woman and seniors and 40 million more kids and adults will have health insurance within 2 years, the country will start to appreciate it more and more in due time....for example, i have a neighbor who was the typical DUers....mad as hell at Obama for not having the public option (as if it was just Obama's fault and not the DINOs)....Anyway, their daughter could never get health insurance until HCR passed and was signed by the president....they learned to appreciate the steps Obama took to improve health insurance in this company and know that major change takes baby steps....

11. Oh, bullshit.
This "all time low," reflected in just one poll, is still far above the lows that Reagan and Clinton both achieved, who went on to mop the floor with their challengers.

8. Obama is much more electable than his approval numbers would show.
His base is pissed off at him. I wouldn't be surprised if significant numbers of liberals *disapprove* when polled. Doesn't mean they won't vote for him, though.

9. According to poll, 79% of liberals approved of the job he is doing
Of course, almost 10% also said they would vote for the Republican challenger, so I'm not sure how much credence you can put in the self-identified groupings.

Obama's numbers will shoot up.

12. If they nominate Pawlenty or Mittens his numbers probably won't change. If they nominate Sarah

Failin' or Michele Backwards, he will probably shoot up to 98%

13. I thought 87% of liberals loved Obama and kissed his feet
and threw rose pedals before his travels across their red carpet they get out everytime he shows up at an event? That wasn't true? I saw a internet tag that said so! Liars!!!

14. Self-identified liberals in this poll are at 79% approval
Edited on Wed Mar-30-11 03:29 PM by Godhumor
8% difference due to different sampling methodology between companies is not a big stretch.
