You will shut your mouth, snap a salute and say "Yes sir! Sir, yes sir!" as you carry out the orders
AND do so cheerfully and without condescension as gays are fully integrated into the military.

Don't like it? Find a new career.

4. Sadly, the military I grew up with
and worked for in excess of 30 years is not the same today. It has been infiltrated by ideology. And then there are the less than satisfactory soldiers brought in to fight George Bush's fiasco.

5. Maybe part of the reason was they got rid of good soldiers who happen to be gay
And I did read that in this volunteer military services they started taking skinheads and people who were below par during the worst of the Iraq war. I expect a lot of things in the military have suffered for it. When you put mediocre people in to make up for the ones you got rid of for stupid reasons, the general condition of the military services are going to suffer.

6. Absolutely.
How stupid is it to get rid of your translators based on their sexual preference?

2. Well nobody outside basic training or Hollywood uses three Sirs but yes that is how it will go down.
Honestly if I responded to an Officers with 3 sirs in 5 words he likely would take it as a sign of disrespect (being sarcastic, etc).

90% of Soldiers will handle it just fine without any "coaching"
5% will learn to play nice with apropriate amount of "encouragement".
The other 5% should be discharged as they will never be able to adapt.

Personally I would give every solider the option to end their enlistment early if they can't handle the requirement. Very few will take it, those who do take it honestly you don't want them in the military anyways.

7. And you will be ready for the razzing, kidding and hazing that everyone
in the military goes through. You'll be razzed about the color of your hair, the size of your schlong, bow legged or knock kneed, speech patterns, region of the country you hail from and just about everything that a group of people in the close environment of the military can find to pick on. It goes with the territory and nothing will make your life more miserable than to be isolated from your group because you run to the CO every time you feel offended.

It happened when I served, when my kids served and today now that my grandchildren are serving.

BTW, My granddaughter in the Air Force says the women are worse than the men. 25% of her flight washed out in basic and most weren't physical problems.

8. Could that be because so many women are being raped in the military?...
That would go beyond most definitions of "hazing and kidding", I'd say.

One study counts it as at least four out of ten..Others rate it higher.

9. I don't think it's much of a problem in BT
everyone is really locked down for that 8 weeks. To tell you the truth I was more concerned about her when she was studying nursing in college.

12. Ummm.....I figured they "do it to each other"
Rapists "do it" to each other too in the sense that the females are fellow soldiers...That's not an explanation.

Btw, I did all the things you mentioned..but I wasn't "locked down"..How 'bout you?

14. I have a feeling that the military is not for you
It's called unit cohesion, camaraderie, stress relief or whatever, and if you can't give as good as you take, you won't belong. There's nothing wrong with that, you just need another profession.
