If you "By God!" believe in what you are telling people needs to be done, then you had better be sure they can hear that "By God!" tone in your voice. And, yes, it will help if you can be seen tightening your jaw, narrowing your gaze and pounding the podium for emphasis.

If you truly believe that we are in danger of losing our democracy to plutocrats and their corporations, then SAY SO! The time for "civil" discussion and collegiality is long past. The simple notion that the very wealthy are NOT paying their fair share and are NOT sharing the pain is a message that will resonate with the overwhelming majority of voters because they already KNOW it! Most of them are simply waiting for someone with some credibility and strength to stand up and SAY IT OUT LOUD and then refuse to apologize for it when the Right Wing Noise Machine throws a shit fit.

What we need to do is already known by everyone with an IQ above room temperature. Yes, some cuts are likely appropriate, but only AFTER we have raised taxes on the very wealthy, closed the loopholes that allow corporations to hide billions of dollars of income off-shore, eliminated the distinction between earned and unearned income and removed the cap on income subject to social security withholding. And, bring the troops home. All of them. Now.
