The Republican ‘Water Boarding’ of the Middle Class and the Poor
Edited on Wed Mar-30-11 09:43 PM by Pistarkle
Republican Lawmakers are flooding the airways with scripted falsehoods about the Congressional budget stand off. They say they want to “compromise” and “cut across the board”, but it’s all a ‘water boarding’ scam. IF THE GOVERNMENT SHUTS DOWN, REPUBLICAN LAWMAKERS WILL BE THE ONLY ONES TO BLAME. Here are the facts:

DEMOCRATIC LAWMAKERS ARE THE ONLY ONES COMPROMISING. First, Democrats offered to cut 4 billion dollars and Republican Lawmakers did not budge. Then the Democrats went back to the table with a compromise to cut 6 billion dollars and Republican Lawmakers did not budge. The third Democratic compromise was an offer to cut 20 billion and Republican Lawmakers did not budge.

Here are just a few of the areas Republican Lawmakers want to cut: JOB Training programs, Social Security, Medicare, community health centers, Juvenile Justice, the Minority Business Development Agency, Flood Control and Coastal Emergencies, Environmental Protection Agency, Women, Infants and Children programs, America Works for Schools & Disasters, COPS Programs, Public radio and television, the Clean Water State Revolving Fund, Food Safety and Inspection Services, the FBI, National Institute of Health, Home Mortgage Assistance Programs, Clean Coal Technology, Maternal and Child Health Block Grants, and Community Services Block Grant, heating oil for the poor.

Here are the areas Republican Lawmakers REFUSE to cut:
400 billion in tax cuts for the top 1% of Americans;
700 BILLION dollars in tax subsidies for oil companies
100 BILLION dollars in tax havens for corporations and the wealthy
1 TRILLION dollars in estate taxes for the wealthy

You don’t need to be a rocket scientist to see that the ONLY things Republican Lawmakers want to do is to insure that the middle class and the poor CAN’T survive, and to insure that the wealthy and corporations CAN prosper. That’s not “cuts across the board”, it’s ‘water boarding’ across the middle class and the poor!

Don’t let Republican Lawmakers get away with it. Expose their ‘water boarding’ scam throughout all social networks; demonstrate at state and national Republican Congressional offices; call in on radio and televised talk shows; file petitions; call, write, and email Republican Lawmakers at www.house.gov www.senate.gov , www.congress.org
