What does an Easter egg hunt have to do with Easter, other than a permutation of a Pagan ritual? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Easter_egg

When I was a kid, I detected a peaceful war on Christmas of a different sort. I might have misunderstood--I was young--but I sensed that the commercialization of Christmas was thought, by some, to be in very poor taste. They didn't have Fox whipping them into a frenzy, of course. But it seemed to be looked down upon in some circles that capitalists had hijacked Christmas.
The capitalist won a war of attrition, as greed became good in the eighties. So next came the racists who had a problem with "Happy Holidays". But that became difficult to maintain, not that some have let go, because one was tending to insult half the population.
Fast forward to the centuries turn, with Fox (capitalists) in full swing, it gets turned on it's head...you know the story.
Granted they have, generally, more homogenized cultures and aren't, on the whole, as religious in the way some Americans are, but I picture Europeans shaking their heads as they observe our 'wars'.

9. Having an "Easter Egg Hunt" is TANTAMOUNT TO ESTABLISHING A NATIONAL RELIGION |
|
and is a clear violation of the Establishment clause. And I'm not sure taking out the word "Easter" really gets them off the hook. An egg hunt? In Spring? Come on, who are you trying to fool? *Obviously* they are pushing insidious Christian propaganda. That's like trying to get away with putting up a Nativity scene at Christmas and calling it a "Winter stable with some guy, a woman and a baby". The township should be forced to change the objects being hunted from eggs to something nondenominational.
