Smart enough to realize that we don't need war to survive, let alone prosper.

Smart enough to not need to look to the supernatural for comfort or beauty.

Smart enough to utilize our natural resources for peace and love. Building cures for illness, hunger and poverty instead of bombs and fighter jets.

Where we could look at our neighbors and see human beings, havens of consciousness, instead of 100 billion barrels of oil or diamond deposits (I mean, just ponder for a moment the level of absurdity required to enslave man so that we can have shiny rocks and metal.)

We wouldn't waste time with political gossip and self-hatred.

We could overcome any reservations towards empathy and community. We wouldn't fear progress.

Call me a hippy, an idealist or delusional. I just wonder where we would be right now if history and modern society wasn't ruled by a bunch of anti-science, greedy, war-hawks.
