In the last 12 hours

"Just CIA observers"
then
"CIA spotter teams"
now
"Training Libyan rebels"

only 1 week to go from only a no-fly zone to US officially/actively participating in the rebellion.

Obama is a better liar than George Bush was.

8. Fool me once...
Obama has no idea how to get out of wars. All his stated intentions to wind down militaristically go down the tubes. I don't know what it is with him but he is a quagmire magnet.

4. so we're actively involved in regime change in the Land O' Oil, you say?
I'm curious next to see whom we allow to take his place...the next adventures in "friendly dictators"

Libya has the largest proven oil reserves in Africa with 42 billion barrels of oil and over 1.3 trillion cubic metres of gas. With only 25% of Libya’s surface territory explored to date there is every chance that actual reserves could see this figure dwarfed in coming years.

As Europe’s single largest oil supplier, the second largest oil producer in Africa and the continent’s fourth largest gas supplier, Libya dominates the petroleum sector in the Southern Mediterranean area and has ambitious plans for the future.

More than 50 international oil companies are present in the market and together with subsidiaries of the Libyan National Oil Corporation (NOC) are contributing to the country’s current production capacity of 2m b/d. NOC plans oilfield investment of some $10bn over the coming three years to increase potential production.

Obama Signed Secret Libya Order Authorizing Support For Rebels

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Barack Obama has signed a secret order authorizing covert U.S. government support for rebel forces seeking to oust Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi, government officials told Reuters on Wednesday.

Obama signed the order, known as a presidential "finding", within the last two or three weeks, according to four U.S. government sources familiar with the matter.

Such findings are a principal form of presidential directive used to authorize secret operations by the Central Intelligence Agency. The CIA and the White House declined immediate comment.

News that Obama had given the authorization surfaced as the President and other U.S. and allied officials spoke openly about the possibility of sending arms supplies to Gaddafi's opponents, who are fighting better-equipped government forces.

TPTB see inequity on the battlefield and are eager to equalize (fodder for MIC) but here at home the inequity between the elites and the rest of us is never discussed in terms of acheiving balance?

Very sneaky. Now we can see how long the buyers remorse takes.

11. Yeah how obvious was this?
Honestly if anyone is mad, they need to take a look at their own ability to analyze a situation.

9. Just Like Viet Nam
The first group of Americans in Viet Nam were "advisers".

Then came the ground troops.

Then the bombings of innocent people.

It just makes me so sad -- and angry!

to take over a country.

NO WONDER THE DON'T WANT ANY OPINION POLLS OR ELECTIONS

12. Who knows where Libyan public sentiment is.
I certainly wouldn't want to guess at that. But the main point is how many welcome the brutal civil war coming their way. When I see the admittedly rare calls to overthrow the Govt here I think they are nuts.

19. Anyone who thought we were sending that kind of military hardware
to Libya and not going to put people on the ground don't know the first thing about warfare.

Only a complete fucking moron would have thought otherwise.

Obama, war preznet.Just like the other idiot.
