Rep. Tom Marino, on subcommittee for Africa, doesn't know Libya is in Africa |
................. Marino, a member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee and the House subcommittee on issues related to African foreign policy, then posed an odd question: “Where does it stop?” he said. “Do we go into Africa next? I don’t want to sound callous or cold, but this could go on indefinitely around the world.”http://thinkprogress.org/2011/03/31/tom-marino-libya-africa/via: http://www.dailykos.com/story/2011/03/31/961907/-Rep-Tom-Marino,-on-subcommittee-for-Africa,-doesnt-know-Libya-is-in-Africa

5. A lot of Libyans try to pretend that it's not, too. |
They are mainly based in the eastern portion of the country.

6. Many here don't seem to know either as they tout the ARAB LEAGUE, not the AFRICAN UNION |
The ignorance is frightening -- Libya has been a major leader of African development starting from Gaddafi's extended revolutionary support for the long guerrilla struggle of Mandela's African National Congress.

9. Libya is in the Arab League and Gaddafi is an Arab Berber. |
Libya's always had a dual personality so on that front, I'm not so critical if somebody gets it wrong but a Congressman on this committee has no excuse.
