Where is Kucinich as Ohio passes Union busting legislation?
Kucinich is missing in action as Ohio is set to pass a union busting bill that is even worse than Wisconsin's!!!!

He'd rather make appearances on Fox News calling for the impeachment of Obama while constituents in his own state suffer!

1. To be fair, he's not really involved with Ohio state legislation.
He has another job. You don't see US Congress members commenting much on what state legislators are up to. It's sort of just not done. Separation of powers and that sort of thing.

Statement of Congresswoman Tammy Baldwin
On WI State Senate Vote to End Collective Bargaining for Public Employees
March 9, 2011

“Tonight's vote by the WI State Senate is sad and shameful. It demonstrates total disrespect for the law and for the people of our state. Our fight to reclaim our democracy is energized, not over.”

How'd that work out in WI? And I hope no one's pinning their hopes on recalls.

Leadership means standing up for what you believe in. It won't hurt the cause--it'll only help it.

ps- (on edit) I love DK; I just don't understand the concept that political leaders should not take a stand on the politics of Union-busting.

not a Wisconsin congressman.

What the hell do you want?

Besides, what you asked is why Obama should be required to go to Wisconsin when Kucinich doesn't have to .

Dennis went to Wisconsin. Obama did nothing.

I would prefer that our state politicos stay out of politics altogether. But, yes, I agree with you. My DK comment was aimed at those that were wondering why the Pres. wasn't in WI with the protesters. I can just imagine the mass head explosion of our local teapers if Pres. Obama ever came to AZ to protest with any grassroots effort.

Wait...maybe we should rethink this. Would it make Brewer's head explode or does there need to be some substance within her melon, first?

"We have to change the balance here and the way you change the balance is a conceptual shift in what you see as the purpose of a nation. The purpose of a nation isn't to make the rich richer or to make the poor poorer, it's to make sure that you have a vibrant economy where there's room for everyone," says Ohio Representative Dennis Kucinich.

Evidence does not support your assumption.

16. Is Dennis Kucinich not a resident of Ohio? Should he not be as concerned as any Ohio resident
about what is happening in that state, his state? I'm assuming that he does vote in Ohio about such mundane things as referendums, council members, mayor, legislators, governor. Or are such things and state of Ohio affairs too trivial for those who live in the rarified air of Washington, D.C.? It would seem that some of those whose lives will be negatively impacted might just be his constituents.

How exactly is being a member of the U.S. Congress mutually exclusive from being concerned about what happens in your own state, even if it is for something as unglamorous as a state of Ohio matter? I would think that a man as well known and respected in Ohio would inspire those protesting against union busting. I would be very impressed if I were an Ohio Democrat if he was to do that.

Maybe that's not really as important as getting your name and words in the national media.

"This is the most powerful attack on workers in our time. But is also raises the most important question of economic justice in our time," U.S. Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-OH), who was at the rally to support protesters, told EconomyInCrisis.org.

"This really is important for everyone that cares about working people, whether it's union or non-union. This is about the essence of democracy."

I don't think DK is presidential material, but I totally don't get the out of control attack. He's a US congressman, he should not be leading local protests. He should support the local folks, which he did, then continue working at the national level where his job is. Don't know what your problem is with DK, but the attack is without merit.

62. Talk is never cheap
it makes people think and that is how people become educated. He talks of things that will not get support in this environment but causes people to think about changing the environment we are in.

When TPTB shut him out he goes where he can be heard. Don't like it? Too bad, he is doing part of his job.

As for Ohio, so far the people have been happy enough to elect him so I would guess he is doing his job just fine and dandy as far as they are concerned.

66. I don't mind that he talks. I encourage him to do so.
But talk becomes cheap when nothing is done to back it up. But you're right, the people of his district have elected him many times, so he must be doing something they like.

And I never said I didn't like it. I just don't succumb to the Kucinich-worship that other people seem to subscribe to here. I love what he has to say about a lot of things, and agree with him on many, but I'd prefer to see it backed-up with stronger legislative efforts. That would be the other part of his job, which I feel has been neglected.

But hey, I'm not one of his constituents. My opinion on him matters as much as my opinion on any Representative that is not Tammy Baldwin.

and speeches in defense of labor in Ohio and elsewhere.

BTW, Rep. Kucinich is a US Rep, not a State Rep.

Regardless of this fact, he has been far more active than most Federal Legislators in his outspoken support of labor.

Some of this support has been televised on national television, including adressing the issue in Ohio over a month ago.

Try a search engine. They can lead you to a great deal of credible information on the internet.

IMO, it is always wise to do research before posting.

Otherwise, one could end up appearing very ignorant to informed readers.

61. Dennis has kept his position in the Congress for about 17 years...
he was put into office, and kept there, for the most part by UNION voters.

Since his home district is being eliminated, will he then change to the Repug Party? His speeches of late show that sort of tendency.

72. He's been there, not missing, he spoke and the works
So what you post is not even true. Does that matter to you? Honesty? And I'm sure others have explained to you that he is a United States Representative, not an Ohio State Rep.
I also note you do not live in Ohio. Have you even been there during this debate?

It's a steady income, after all.

He's a Faux News favorite for their proxy attacks on President Obama. They can point to him and say, "See? Democrats think he's the Devil Incarnate, too. It's not just us teabaggers!"

"Darn it! DK tee's me off. I'll find some way to bring him down. He's done nothing."

I'm not even going to list the many things he's tried to initiate.

He has been a champion of the right way America should go for many years. A strong voice to whom few give heed. What has Joe "I'm a Zionist" Biden done? What had Nancy "impeachment is off the table" Pelosi done?

I guess DK just doesn't play three-dimensional backgammon very well.

Conservatives also despise liberals regardless of party.
