We have to get the word out that the game is rigged.
I was listening to Diane Rehm today, and a woman called in and challenged Bernie Sanders saying something to the effect that she didn't need anyone's help, that she didn't want anyone's help, that she could make her own way to success.

Too many people out there have no idea how distorted our economy has become. Right now they think we're the enemy. We're going to take what little they have and give it to layabouts. They have no idea that it is uber rich who are robbing them and using them.

1. That's because all the mainstream media is rigged
When people only hear the 24/7 propaganda put out by corporations and have no access to alternative sources of information, they get like that.

I sometimes contemplate putting together a newsletter and leaving copies in waiting rooms, libraries, buses, etc. Sorta like the underground newspapers that were essential to the anti-Vietnam war movement.

2. Well, sometimes it just might get out in other ways...
"Justified" had a really good show last night. It highlighted the difference between Union jobs and "right to work" jobs in the coal mining business. It also highlighted big corps and big money cheats pocketing pols and law enforcement against the communities. All this in the poor south where it seems the people need guidance as to who is screwing them. So I guess what I am saying is maybe if we were to watch these entertainment shows that do show our point of view, we can get the word out that way circumventing the "news" shows. Make the good entertaining shows number ones in viewing so they will stay on.

4. During the Soviet era, the underground press was like that. The word is, "Samizdat"
In order to get around censorship, dissidents copied banned books and manifestos by hand, and covertly distributed them.

Vladimir Bukovsky defined it as follows:

"(...) I myself create it,
edit it,
censor it,
publish it,
distribute it, and ...
get imprisoned for it. (...)

Don't we know it.

5. it's also completely idiotic. the essence of private enterprise is assistance for and from others.
absolutely NO ONE puts food on the table or gets rich without help from others.

well, ok, if you're off the grid and grow your own food, fine, you can survive on your own.

but otherwise, you're dependent on suppliers and/or customers and/or lenders and/or investors and/or employees, not to mention all the GOVERNMENT SERVICES that you need, such as decent roads and maybe parking so customers have access to your store, police and courts and laws to protect your property and rights, public utilities to power your enterprise, and regulators to protect you from toxic supplies, and so on.

no one gets anywhere without help, and a lot of it.

6. Wonder if that woman heard the rest of the news today. It was reported that a 65 yr-old couple
will have to have $230,000 in savings to pay for their healthcare during retirement. Bet she has less than $50K in savings.

http://www.cnbc.com/id/42357178

The bad news: A 65-year-old couple retiring this year will need $230,000 to pay for medical expenses throughout retirement, not including nursing home care.
