2. Paul Wolfowitz?
I see that jackass on TV all the time. Apparently it's impossible to discredit yourself enough so that you can't go on TV and tell us what we should do.

3. Gates says "hold your fucking horses"
Gates calls for limited role aiding Libyan rebels

Even as the White House says arming the rebels seeking to oust leader Moammar Gadhafi is still under consideration, Gates and Mullen said the U.S. still knows little about the opposition force, and some other nation should do the training and equipping.

"My view would be, if there is going to be that kind of assistance to the opposition, there are plenty of sources for it other than the United States," Gates told the House Armed Services Committee.

Amid reports that the CIA has small teams working with the rebels in Libya, Gates insisted there will be no U.S. military boots on the ground "as long as I am in this job."

4. "as long as I am in this job."
Which doesn't say much, since he plans to retire in 2011

5. He said last year he WANTS to retire this year - that was before all this mess.
but, who knows... a little "Days not weeks" no-fly zone has turned into outright civil war.

I don't think he'd bail on the president in the middle of a war.
