Join us for Music, Faith and Solidarity with Working Families in Colorado and across our nation

WHEN: Monday, April 4, 5 - 6:30 PM

WHERE: Centennial Park, Greeley, CO (23rd. Ave. & 22nd St.)

WHAT: Stand in solidarity with teachers, police officers, nurses, firefighters and other public workers in Wisconsin and dozens of other states, whose rights to organize, bargain collectively and achieve recognition are under attack.

Eliza Carney, of our N. CO Chapter of Health Care for All Colorado, will speak about Senate Bill 168, The Colorado Health Care Cooperative. HCAC will have signs and materials to pass out. Local Labor leaders, the League of Women Voters, and local pastors will speak.

This event is part of WE ARE ONE, a national Day of Mobilization by people of faith and conscience. April 4 is also the anniversary of the death of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., who was assassinated in Memphis, where he went to support striking city sanitation workers. Forty -three years later, the very rights Dr. King died for are under attack across the country. We must counter these attacks on the right to bargain collectively for a voice at work and a middle-class life--we must take a stand for justice and dignity for all. :) This will be the fifth rally I've been to here in Nashville in the last couple of months and we haven't had good weather yet. Every time it's been cold and rainy. Get out there! It's empowering.
