Tomorrow, no matter what, is going to be a good day
I don't care how many DUers have me on "ignore." It's their loss. Tomorrow is going to be a good day.

Tomorrow was supposed to be our 11th wedding anniversary. Thank God we made it to 10.

Some of you may remember that two weeks after ChickMagic died, I was told I was being laid off. There was practically no help in finding me another job, so I was shown the door.

I spent the next five months unemployed - not for want of trying to find a job, though. And I had a little money to tide me over for a couple of months. But then the money ran out, the power was cut off at times, and I had to find a way to get money so that my kitty could eat. I spent many hours huddling over a laptop in Starbucks, and that laptop helped greatly in finally getting me another job.

It's a temp job. I have no health insurance, no vision, no dental. I'm not making near as much money as I used to. Things have still been tight. I miss my Ginny something fierce. It helps that Banjo knows how to give kitty hugs when I come home.

But I am coming out of my dark place. Some of you might ask, "You were in a dark place?" Others might say, "But you've always been there, what's the difference?" It's all good. I am finally seeing light at the end of the tunnel - and it is not the headlamp of an oncoming train.

Tomorrow, I am going to start getting some long-overdue shit done. For Ginny. For myself. For us.

I've been in mourning for almost a year. I will always love her. But it's time for me to rebuild what has been pulled down. It starts tomorrow.

Besides, Ginny will probably get a chuckle out of realizing that tomorrow is April Fool's Day. The day we got married. The day I start my new life in earnest.

I love you all.

:hi:

6. I don't get it
At first, I thought you misspelled a certain four-letter word, and I was gonna say, "Dude, you might want to take a short walk and work it off."

11. Wonderful to read this
even though it makes me sad that the woman you loved (and still love) so deeply has passed on, and that times have been so hard in general. But your optimism and resolve sounds incredibly encouraging. My very best wishes(for whatever that's worth) to you.

30. Hey there, sonias!
My father-in-law, unfortunately, passed away last night. We knew it was coming for some time; he's been declining for a while.

I helped his wife and daughter round up some papers to ger him buried with full military honors. They're working out the date and time of services at the funeral home today, which allowed me to go ahead with some long-overdue business concerning my wife's estate. I am getting stuff done, and it feels great to have the load lifting after all this time.

Keep moving forward.

35. Words cannot express . . . . the sadness and the joy.
Better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all. I'm sorry for your loss and hope that your new job develops into something that sustains you.

Temp jobs sometimes give you a chance to prove yourself -- or to decide that the job is not what you want -- without building some sort of expectation of success that is then disappointed.

Good luck.
