I have a few thoughts. I've been on DU for quite a long time but rarely am I long winded. I have a few things I would like to blurt out.

Obama and fellow democrats stopped the free fall. BUT to turn things truly around you must follow up on and adjust policy to fine tune and build on anything positive.

The independents scared the shit out of him in 2010, the independents showing that neither party can count on them for anything other than being fickle.

Since the shit was scared out of him he has abandoned the force he had shown leading up to the 2010 elections.

He's sitting back, watching the GOP and tea party extremists make a bad name for themselves while he benefits politically from the over the top jaw dropping lunacy that the GOP displays daily.

Sure his numbers in polls may drop now- but he knows when push comes to shove - he can beat all they have to offer.

My HUGE problem with this is that I now see him as a coaster - not a leader.

Was he the right choice to stop an economic free fall? Yes. Did he and the democrats make inroads toward betterment after the bush fiasco? Yes.

Has he suffered from the enormity of the bush hangover - as most of Americans do? Yes.

Unfortunately, the job requirement is wire to wire (2008-2012)- and he must be leading for the entire duration.

Our domestic problems (JOBS) are mind boggling and we have a GOP party that launches an attack on workers during an employment crisis. The GOP is controlling the narrative on this and it's just wrong.

I truly sympathize with foreign countries and their present horrific dilemmas- but we are facing one of our own. A war on, a full frontal assault on - hard working people and the poor.

Leadership now would be a laser focus - the same laser focus we see for military actions, on confronting and dealing with the abuse of the middle class and the poor.

2. As if that was the only line in the post. Do you agree fully? Or do you just like the slogan?

4. Excellent post, but a few quibbles

He helped pause the freefall, but he did so as to most protect bankers, but not workers or the banks thmselves. For example, England did this in a much better way.

He ridiculed and disenfranchised economists who said the stimulus needs to be at least twice what it was.

Obama also didn't realize that you need to at least make it clear that you're trying to deliver on change: appointing Clinton's bad actors, rolling over for Water Street, and the rest indicated something else.

If he actually did what was right for this country he'd make enemies of everybody with any real power in this country.

7. Well, if he walked away from his campaign promises out of fear
for his life, he shouldn't have run for President. The Chief Executive is also the Chief Soldier.

8. He does have a family.
I'm sure somebody has reminded him of that by now.
